A reel of the animated works I have made in 2021 – 2022.

Turning my previous animatic into a full animation.

Time Pass Through – Animatic

This is the final project for my storyboarding class. It was inspired by Kaden MacKay’s song from Tik Tok. I took inspiration from everything that has been happening in my life the past few years. Graduating high school, going to college, the COVID pandemic, taking classes on zoom, turning 20 (no longer being a teen), and general uncertainty about my future were all influential in this animatic. I hope you enjoy!

The Drip – BoJack Horseman Animation

For this project, my requirements were to have 3 different scenes and incorporate 3 of the principles of animation. I had recently finished BoJack Horseman on Netflix, and the scene surrounding BoJacks death stuck with me — which is why I chose to use this audio. In the show, BoJack’s friend talks about how nothing comes after death, you’re just sent back into oblivion to be part of the universe again. I like the idea that everything comes from the universe and eventually returns to it.

I also took a lot of inspiration from the short story The Egg which was animated by Kurzgesagt on youtube. The Egg focuses on the idea that the universe is one single soul, and that soul lives throughout each and every life on Earth, and eventually returns back to the universe. I portrayed this idea by having the orb of light start off as something small, take over the old man, and then return to the universe.

The Wicked Witch of the East Bro – Kinetic Animation

This is my first time working with kinetic animation in After Effects. It is a bit more challenging to animate emotion into words when compared with living objects. I wanted to use a video with high energy for this project. The first thing that came to mind was a viral video from 2018 of two guys very passionately fighting about the Wizard of Oz. I thought this video was hilarious when I first saw it, and I still find it hilarious now. The heated argument easily allowed me to animate the texts — especially interruptions and background laughter.

Mac Miller – Knock Knock Rotoscope

For this project, I had to make a rotoscope. I decided to rotoscope Mac Miller’s music video of Knock Knock. I’ve been a big fan of Mac for a while now and Knock Knock has such a fun amped-up energy that I just knew I had to animate it.
